Chicago Cubs
purchase two Polarzone Spas
The team at Polarzone is pleased to announce the purchase of one Elite
Hot Spa, and one Elite Cryotherapy Spa, by the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs
had their Spas
installed at their Fitch Field Mesa, Arizona facility, where players at all levels
of the organization will use them. The staff will realize the many

New Mexico State University Aggies
Polarzone is proud to welcome New Mexico State University to the

Harvard University Receives Polarzone Hydrotherapy Spas
The first week of August, 2007 - Polarzone delivered, and set up, two
Polarzone
"Elite Hot" Spas and two
"Pro Cryotherapy" Spas at Harvard University, for their training facility remodel
and upgrade. The spas are equipped with the standard Polarzone
THSS™ water sanitation system. Polarzone welcomes Harvard
University to
the Polarzone family of professional teams that have the competitive
edge when it comes to sanitation and modern equipment in their
facilities.

Seattle Seahawks - 8 YEARS IN A ROW!
The Seattle Seahawks will be using Polarzone cold and hot spas for their
summer training camp in Kirkland, Washington. This is the 8th year in a
row Polarzone has supplied hydrotherapy modalities for Seahawks training
camp.
Colorado Rockies purchase a custom designed and manufactured Elite
model cold spa. The Colorado Rockies are using their Elite
cold spa that was installed At Coors Field March, 2007.

completed installation, startup, & testing of the "Elite" model
cryotherapy in the Mariners' Training Room @ Safeco Field in September

October 25, 2006, Peoria, Arizona. Polarzone-NW, LLC, manufacturers of
custom designed hydrotherapy
products, to deliver and install the new 350 gallon Elite model Cryotherapy (cold) spa at the Seattle Mariners spring training facility
in Peoria.

The Seattle Mariners are upgrading their
hydrotherapy system with the purchase and installation of a 375 gallon
Elite model cold spa. The Polarzone™ unit is completely self-contained
and fully programmable with temperature settings from 40° to room
temperature. As is standard with all Polarzone hydrotherapy spas (cold
and hot spas), this modality comes complete with Polarzone’s unique
Triple Hurdle Sanitation System™ and overflow device that automatically
collects water and refills the spa, helping to keep water levels
constant and pH normal.
The
Triple Hurdle Sanitation System™
combines Ultraviolet Light, Ozone Injection and automatic Bromine
Infusion. In combining these sanitizing systems, Polarzone delivers
three levels of water cleansing to help control the transmission of
infectious diseases. To test the effectiveness of this sanitation
system an
independent testing lab inoculated a spa with very high
concentrations of athlete’s foot fungus, e-coli, the flesh-eating
viruses Staphylococcus aureus
(MRSA) and Enterococcus faecium (VRE).
Water was circulated in the spa for three minutes and tested every 10
minutes for one hour.
Matthew V. Adams, President
of Micro-Chem Laboratories, Inc., in Seattle, said of
the test, “When we
inoculated these test microorganisms into the Polarzone Cryotherapy Spa
system, in less than three minutes (the mixing time used to circulate
the organisms into the spa water) the chemical (Ozone and Chlorine), and
Ultra-Violet antimicrobial light immediately inactivated
all of the inoculated microorganisms. No microorganisms
remained viable in the spa water when the Time Zero sample (and
subsequent samples) were taken.”
He went on to say, “This
analytical result supports our original hypothesis of complete water
sanitation, and also supports the reasonable presumption that
individual(s), having a large microbial population on their bodies could
enter the water in a Polarzone Cryotherapy Spa and the chemical (Ozone
and Chlorine) plus Ultra-Violet light antimicrobial hurdles would be
sufficient to render the water safe for further use after a very short
(>3 minutes) elapsed time. The Polarzone Cryotherapy “triple hurdle
sanitation system” is able to kill high concentrations of
MRSA and VRE
organisms, which are of concern in some infectious disease.”
Hydrotherapy spas and whirlpools are
used extensively by athletic teams to prepare athletes for participation
and in injury treatment. With Polarzone spas, several athletes can use
them at one time and medical staff can rest assured of a reduced risk of
the spread of infectious disease. Athletes who have used Polarzone
modalities enjoy them and Athletic Trainers like the Mariners Rick
Griffin and Mickey Clarizio like the programmable features, ease of
maintenance and self-cleaning qualities of Polarzone spas.
